KOHLER

Rehlko (formerly Kohler Energy / Kohler Engines):

  • In September 2024, Kohler Energy (which included Kohler Power Systems and Kohler Engines) was rebranded as Rehlko, becoming an independent company. Platinum Equity holds majority ownership, while Kohler Company remains an investment partner
  • Rehlko continues developing and providing energy and engine solutions — such as generators, UPS systems, energy storage, and renewable technologies — globally, with operations in over 100 locations
  • The company builds on a legacy that dates back to 1920, when Kohler entered the power generation business. Strategic acquisitions over the years include SDMO (2005) and Lombardini (2007)

Lombardini:

  • An Italian diesel engine manufacturer, founded in 1933 by the Lombardini brothers in Reggio Emilia (with earlier engine work dating to 1922)
  • Lombardini became a leader in small diesel engines, expanding internationally and acquiring competitors like Slanzi, Cotiemme, Acme, and Ruggerini
  • In 2007, Lombardini was acquired by Kohler Company and integrated into its Power Group

Lombardini engines are part of Kohler’s — now Rehlko’s — historical and product portfolio lineage.
